When my maltese Marley (an APRA alum) passed away this summer, I was devastated. Luckily, I had already been volunteering for APRA for a few months, and my shelter shifts definitely helped me get my “dog fix” until I was ready to adopt again. Sigmund showed up in the shelter in September, and I fell in love. The day he became available, I showed up bright and early to bring him home.
Because he came from a puppy mill, Sigmund was very timid and overwhelmed. But this little pup quickly adapted to life as a pet. He is now an outgoing, silly, happy boy. I truly believe we rescued each other. I can’t thank APRA enough for helping me find 2 amazing animals! ~Amanda K.
