Did You Know? Creative Ways to Give...

Thank you Leesia Teh Photography!

Planned giving is the best way to assure that your love of animals lives on after you are gone. To make your charitable giving dollar really count, you can choose to fund the future of Atlanta Pet Rescue with your estate planning. Making a gift to our no-kill shelter is one of the most effective ways to ensure that your legacy lives on in our mission to save homeless pets' lives.

Atlanta Pet Rescue invites you to join other supporters who have already acted to ensure the future of our no-kill shelter by including Atlanta Pet Rescue in their estate plans.

Here are some examples of ways you can help:

Retirement Plans

Retirement plan assets are one of the best assets to use for charitable gifts. You can create a legacy by naming Atlanta Pet Rescue & Adoption, Inc. as beneficiary or contingent beneficiary of an IRA, 401(k), 403(b), or other qualified retirement plan.

Insurance Policies

If you no longer need life insurance that was purchased years ago to provide for children or other family members, please consider donating the policy, or even a percentage of your life insurance policy, to Atlanta Pet Rescue.

Life Income Plans

Life income plans may provide significant income tax savings and favorable capital gains tax treatment on gifts of appreciated property.

Real Estate as a Gift

You can give your residence, vacation home, acreage, farm, or unimproved parcel of land and still retain use of it so that you and your family can continue to use it for the rest of your lives while obtaining significant tax and estate planning benefits.

Eddie

Eddie is a 1.5 year-old, 15-pound Sheltie mix.  He looks like a miniature version of a large breed dog, but he's in a really small package. Eddie is a sweet boy and gets along well with other dogs.

He came from an outlying animal control facility where he had been picked up as a stray and never reclaimed. Eddie is a bit shy, but good natured. We are happy to have him here and he will be even happier when we find him a perfect forever home.

Eddie requests that he go to a home without cats or small children.

For more information about Atlanta Pet Rescue or how to adopt Eddie or any of our 80+ dogs or cats, visit our web site.

Bailey (formerly Peekachu)

Just thought I'd share an update on Peekachu now named Bailey. He is by far one of the most entertaining cats I have ever known. As you can see from the pictures, his coloring has changed so much since he was adopted last May. Bailey loves to play and makes a soft, little sound to alert you when it is time for play.

He enjoys hide and seek and will make this same chirping sound until you come find him. Bailey can be very naughty and comes out of nowhere with a sideways little dance to grab at your feet. He is very independent and enjoys a wonderful life in the city. He loves to chase the birds while they congregate for an early feed on the balcony. Bailey will run to the windows in the sunroom if he hears a loud noise of any sort - a plane, trucks - even fireworks! He simply just needs to know what it is. And thunder does not scare him in the least.

He is a loving, playful little companion who greets me at the door after I return home from work. Bailey runs to his bed and rolls around waiting for a belly rub. He does know how handsome he is - but doesn't let it go to his head. Bailey is a complete joy to have around and has brought much happiness to my life.

Many, many thanks to APR!

Fabulous Fosters

Each month we will feature one of our outstanding foster parents. Our foster homes are so important to our organization, and we just can not thank them enough. Fostering a rescue pet is a demanding job and we are so lucky to have such a fine group of volunteers who are up to the challenge.

Jonenne Nagel

Let's not forget about our committed Kitty foster families!

Jonenne Nagel is much prized for her ability to socialize shy timid little kittens. Always available, always up for the challenge, Jonenne has fostered numerous kittens and done a fabulous job molding them into wonderful, friendly, adoptable cats!

Thank you Jonenne, for your support of our feline babies. We couldn't do what we do without you!
