Kira
Kira is a super girl - affectionate, calm and loving. She is a two year old Doberman Pinscher with natural ears. This poor girl was horribly emaciated and weighed only 40 pounds. She gained nine pounds in as many days, and now has more rounded lines, and fewer bones protruding.
Kira was rescued from an animal control facility where she was originally taken from her owners as a cruelty case. Kira's owners not only neglected to feed her properly, but they also did not give her heartworm prevention. As a result, this poor girl now has heartworm disease. She's been through the treatment, and we are counting on a full and complete recovery for Kira.
Now that Kira is with us, we are going to fatten her up and guarantee that her next home gives her all the love and care she so deserves. We do request that she goes to a kitty-free home as she finds them a bit too enticing. She seems to be housebroken (no accidents so far), loves to play with soft toys, go for walks, and she gets along great with other dogs.
For more information about Atlanta Pet Rescue or how to adopt Kira or any of our 80+ dogs or cats, visit our web site.

Wiley
Owen, Morgan and I are thankful EVERY DAY for the joy that Wiley brings us, Molly & Smoochie. He is a little person in his own right who loves to "make biscuits" on his favorite teddy bear, folly with his brother, and watch the wildlife show from his choice of windows. When Owen works from home, Wiley keeps him company, lying in front of the computer keyboard (he has even learned how to work the computer mouse!). Owen is creating a website for all of the pictures and small video clips he has taken of Wiley, and as soon as it is up and running, I'll provide you with the link.
Fondly,
Lori
*Note to reader: for those of you who don't remember, Wiley is the kitty that came to us with severe wounds from an animal attack. We were fearful for his life, as he was very close to death when we found him. Many months of TLC, medication, and R&R later - Wiley had stolen the hearts of most of the volunteers and all of the staff at Atlanta Pet Rescue! He is one special kitty! We are so happy he has finally found love and happiness in his forever home! |

Carolyn Baars
Carolyn is a dedicated volunteer who has given countless hours of care and attention to numerous litters of puppies and kittens over the years. We are forever indebted to her for all that she has done to ready these little ones for their forever homes.
She also joined our staff recently, and helps with endless emails as well as weekly adoptions, in addition to her volunteer work as Foster Home Director, (keeping track of who's where, and responding to any and all foster home questions and needs.) Indeed, Carolyn is a great asset to Atlanta Pet Rescue!
