Love is in the Air

February is the month of love, and Atlanta Pet Rescue hopes you will join us to celebrate the beautiful, rare unconditional love of our feline and canine companions.

Maybe we can learn a thing or two from their expert level of knowledge on the subject of love, one example - we don't need words to express our love.

The kitties of Atlanta Pet Rescue have asked that we invite you to join them this month as they share yummy valentine cookies and offer a special gift to everyone who adopts a cat or kitten. Why don't you join us? We think you will agree that adopting a cat or dog will bring a little more love into your life.

Lillie Ruth

Lillie Ruth is a pretty three year old, orange and white short-haired kitty. This poor girl was brought to us by our neighbors at Barking Hound Village after they found Lillie Ruth in the parking lot. Earlier that  morning, a woman had stopped there asking what she could do with her cat, because she was leaving on vacation the next day. We suspect Lillie Ruth was her inconvenient cat.

Lillie Ruth gets along well with the other cats and kittens in our cat room. She's very outgoing and affectionate with humans, too. She is a calm kitty who likes to sit nearby and be petted. She also likes to watch the crazy shenanigans of the kittens as they play around her. If you’re looking for a gentle companion cat, come by and meet our Lillie Ruth.

For more information about Atlanta Pet Rescue or how to adopt Lillie Ruth or any of our 80+ dogs or cats, visit our web site.

Clementine (on the left)

Clementine (formerly Tootsie)

I am writing to update you on Tootsie, now known as Clementine. She is the darling of our lives and has adjusted wonderfully to life with us. Clemmy makes friends everywhere she goes - from the vet office to the dog park. She even met my in-laws' dogs in Ohio over Thanksgiving and loved them to pieces (and they enjoyed her equally). And, yes, she did a great job during the car trip to Ohio too. We couldn't have adopted a more perfect dog - she is non- aggressive toward our cats, she is housebroken, and she has such a great heart and personality.

The future will only get better for Clemmy. We will be taking her to obedience school sometime after the first of the year so that she will gain more confidence on the leash (as well as overall confidence). We also hope to move to a small house with a yard, as opposed to our current condo - so she has her own outdoor space to look forward to.

Thanks for being a great organization and saving so many little ones. We love ours.

Kindest Regards,

Allison

Fabulous Fosters

Each month we will feature one of our outstanding foster parents. Our foster homes are so important to our organization, and we just can not thank them enough. Fostering a rescue pet is a demanding job and we are so lucky to have such a fine group of volunteers who are up to the challenge.

Myra Creighton

Myra Creighton has become the mama of the scruffy Terrier types. Myra is particularly skilled at rehabilitating very shy dogs. She has a superior way of gaining the trust of these dogs and allowing them to blossom.

Most recently, Myra has gone above and beyond the call of duty to help Bailey, the Wheaton Terrier mix, through an amazing and at times questionable recovery.

Myra has been taking Bailey on regular trips to the vet for hydrotherapy and even helped us find donors for the much-needed funding to support Bailey's rehabilitation.

Thanks Myra, for your patience and commitment to Atlanta Pet Rescue!
