Are you looking for a sweetheart to be your constant companion? April may be the one for you. She is a laid back mature gal that would definitely enjoy a quiet and loving home. Dr. Marguriet at Paces Ferry Veterinary Clinic thinks April is around six years old.
April's right eye has previously been removed and her left eye has some corneal scarring which is most likely from her scratching at it because of allergies. She was loaded with fleas when we got her, and she had been chewing herself raw because of those loathsome insects. They are history now, and her skin is healing nicely.
We don't know much about her past, but we do know that April lived in Mississippi at one point in her life. She was adopted from an animal control facility two years ago, according to the information gleaned from her microchip. Unfortunately, April's initial adopter could not be found, and judging from April's condition when we got her, April may have been on her own for some time.
April is a delight to have around. She's quiet, well-behaved and housebroken. She gets along fabulously with other dogs, and never met a stranger when it comes to humans. April walks well on leash, and can use a doggie door, too.
April deserves a special home to live out her golden years. She has lots of love and devotion to offer in return.
What my foster mom says about me:
7/4/12: April is a very happy girl. Whenever anyone talks to her she wags her tail and sometimes even tips her head upward and speaks a soft word or two herself. She gets along fine with the two primary canine residents here, and I think she would do well as either an only dog or a member of a pack. She is very calm and well behaved and easy to care for. If you want a sweetheart to follow your every step and snooze at your feet when you are still, April could be perfect for you.
Thanks to Dandy Dogs with Happy Paws Pet Spa for giving her a beautiful hair cut!
