It is with great sadness that we report that Betty succumbed to heartworm disease this morning. Her little heart was badly weakened by the heartworms, and she passed quietly in the arms of her foster mom.
Let this be a lesson to all of us who have dogs. Monthly heartworm prevention is a necessity in Georgia. All it takes is one mosquito bite to infect our pets. One pill or tablet a month will protect your dog.
