Fritz is in a foster home and available for adoption on Saturday.
This handsome Terrier has the perfect amount of scruff and spunk. He has this tail that is not quite a nub, but is not full length either. His frame is sturdy and strong. He has been getting along well with the other dogs and every person that comes his way.
Apparently Fritz did not receive his monthly dose of heartworm prevention and has Heartworms as a result. He will undergo treatment after his neuter surgery. If you can help defray the medical costs please click on “Sponsor Me”. All donations are greatly appreciated.
Update 2/23/2012: Fritz has successfully completed his heartworm treatment and is looking forward to finding his forever home soon.
What my foster parents say about me:
2/22/12: Fritz is settling in nicely. I'm excited that we will probably have him for a full three weeks while he undergoes heartworm treatment. After only 3 days, he's already progressing well, and it will be interesting to see how far he comes in three weeks.
Fritz is a fascinating little guy. He's classified as a terrier mix, which I think is correct. He is small, but solidly built. I'm guessing that he is Jack Russell terrier mixed with beagle (but no baying!!!). His ears are Jack; his body beagle. His tail has the cutest little kink.
Fritz loves to play with our other dogs. He is a lively and engaging dog buddy. But when he's done playing, he loves to snuggle up next to his humans. I think he's gotten calmer over the past three nights as he gets used to our household. Fritz seems eager to please and to learn the rules of our house.
In the next few weeks we'll work hard to get Fritz ready for transition to his forever home.
Stay tuned! Keep looking for updates on this little sweetie.
Update 3/1/12: Fritz is certainly another of APRA's rising stars. He completed his heartworm treatment about a week ago and will be ready for adoption this Saturday.
Fritz is a lively little dog who has blended in so well with our family. He is always looking for fun with his doggy brothers, but he also loves to snuggle. (He thinks he is a laptop.) I think he could do well as an only dog or in a multi-dog household.
Fritz is fully housebroken, crate trained, and we have not had any chewing problems with him.
We have loved fostering Fritz, but Fritz is READY for his forever home and will make a great pet for some lucky person or family.
