This handsome boy looks like a miniature Bearded Collie. Higgins has a thick and lush coat that was horribly matted around his legs. His type of coat needs regular brushing and maintenance. Once his hair grows out he will be even better looking. Beyond his looks, he is a sweetheart that is always looking for something to do. Higgins must go to a home with an active owner that can provide him with an outlet for his energy.
He came to us from an outlying animal control facility that picked him up as a stray. His owners were located and contacted and they stated they would reclaim Higgins. However, they never showed up. Thankfully, we were able to take him to our facility where he can wait to find a better home that will never abandon him.
What my vacation was like during the move:
Higgins is a sweet and happy soul that loves to hang out with you whether you are being a couch potato, gardening, or taking a walk. He is very bright and wants to please, so is a quick learner. He gets a little excited when you get the leash out to walk but settles down very quickly when the walking actually gets started.
Higgins is completely house trained and did not have even one accident in the house. He got along well with our elderly lab, was good company for him but did not annoy him by trying to play to much. He only rode in my car when he was coming from and going back to APRA but he loaded quickly and rode completely quiet in the crate. He is quick to learn, quick to make you smile and quick on this feet; a best all around kinda guy.
