Sparky was adopted 4/6/12

You can't tell from this smiley boy's picture, but Sparky does have the body of a Dachshund.  His coloring is quite unique and consistent with some terrier breeds.  He has been a dear since he came through our door and is especially intrigued by all of his new canine pals.  Sparky has been following each and every dog around as much as he can until he tires out.

Sweet Sparky was surrendered to us by his previous owner because they could no longer afford to care for him.  He made a wonderful companion and is looking forward to finding a home that will last forever.

What my foster mom says about me:

3/2/12:  I was first attracted to Sparky by his incredible good looks and his unique coloring.  Getting to know his sweetness is the best!  Sparky has been the sweetest and most easy going little guy.  He gets along with all other dogs and is completely housetrained, never barks, and adores going on long walks.  In fact, he would do well with a walker or jogger, maybe even agility to get his energy out every day.

Sparky is a high-energy dog who has not stopped investigating every inch of the house.  He is not misbehaving in the least, very respectful, but he follows his nose everywhere and doesn't rest until he remembers the toy basket, then he's great about entertaining himself with a toy.  He will proudly bring it to you for a game.  He has really enjoyed roaming the fenced yard and woods in this warm spring weather.

It's only been a few days but Sparky is adjusting slowly to being here.  You can tell that he was loved and well-cared for, probably an only dog for most of his life.  He seems to be a bit bewildered by the changes he's had to face but happy at the same time.  I love when he runs up to me for a cuddle!  Sparky is really a unique jewel and he will be a fantastic friend to his new family. ~Claire
