Poor little Ziggy! As you can tell by the pictures he was essentially one giant mat. From head to toe, his hair was completely matted and stinky, too. His toenails had been deformed by the mats growing out with toenails imbedded in the tight knots of hair. Chewing on them for relief only made things worse for poor Ziggy.
Despite the extreme discomfort this guy must have been in, not once did he complain! Our wonderful staff member, Elisa, patiently groomed him. He was quiet and still for most of the entire shaving. Can you imagine having your hair completely knotted and pulling on your skin? There is no way we wouldn't complain!!
Once he had his new haircut and was clean, Ziggy got to meet new friends, of the two-legged and four-legged persuasion. He has been doing well with both types of friends. He has settled in well and we are looking forward to seeing even more of his personality grow. Ziggy's feeling fresh and clean and ready to meet his new family!
What my foster family says about me:
8/17/12: Happy, secure, playful & loving are just some of the adjectives I would use to describe our foster Ziggy. It was pretty surprising to realize that a dog found in his condition could be so well adjusted, so well behaved, so trusting. Ziggy is all this & much more! He’s completely housebroken, loves going on walks, enjoys being playful with his toys and adores all people & dogs alike! He has free run in our home and instantly demonstrated his gentlemanly behavior both indoors & out. He has a beautifully calm disposition and eyes that are so expressive they make your heart melt! His curls are slowly starting to come back in & he is obviously one stunningly gorgeous boy. We’re in love & if you give him a chance, I think you’d fall in love as well. Come meet Ziggy & see for yourself!
