Good Afternoon - I just wanted to take a moment to tell the story of Buford (on left in photo). I adopted Him when he was 3 or 4 from you guys in March of 2004. It started out as just Buford and I. He loved and supported me through 3 different apartments and 2 separate houses. During that time He welcomed My Husband, my two lovely girls and His two four legged sisters. He helped 8 different foster dogs learn their way around the home until we were able to find some forever homes for them. He recently was put to rest. He had a full and happy life and because it started as just the two of us He will always have a very special place in my heart and will be missed by many. ~ The Ballengee Family

Hello Atlanta Pet Rescue - Next Monday will mark our 1 year anniversary for adopting Rosie from Atlanta Pet Rescue. We can’t thank you enough… we have no idea what we would do without her in our lives.
Rosie spends her days romping around in the backyard, playing with her extensive collection of toys, & cuddling with us every night before we go to bed. She is the perfect dog!
Thank you ~ Stefanie, Alex, & Rosie
I follow APRA regularly as I adopted my little Dachshund mix, Brady, from you back in Feb. of 2009. He was called Blue when he was with you because he has blue eyes. He’s been a wonderful addition to my small family and is a joy to be with. I’ve included a recent picture of him. I just love the work APRA is doing and look forward the updates on Grace’s progress on the website. I hope all goes well for her!
All my best ~ Patty L.
Hi Gigi - You probably don’t remember me, but you were the foster to this little blonde guy back in Nov 2005. His name was Barnum at the time, but you called him Peanut. He was very attached to you and kept calling you from the adoption pen while you were registering adoptive candidates at the front desk. I adopted him and he’s been a great companion and hiker over the years. We lived in ATL back by Chattahoochee Forest trails where he chased squirrels, then I moved to Pennsylvania for a few years where he chased deer, now I live in Orange County, CA where he just enjoys hanging out at the beach(see picture). He is 10 yrs old now, and has always been the sweetest, most Read »
Denver visits his extended family of Bully dogs in Fayetteville that includes an American Bulldog and Staffordshire Bull Terrier. APRA found me the perfect dog!! ~ Jessica P.
We adopted Snoop Dog from APRA in February 2013. His main, Niblet (not that Nib gave Snoop a choice with that), came to us from APRA in December of 2012. Pip, in the background, simply arrived at our home a couple of months before we adopted Nib. There’s a story there too, but this one is Snoop’s.
When we first met Snoop, he was one very depressed little boy. Snoop had recently returned to the center from a foster home where, as we were told by the APRA staff, he had been much happier. It was a stretch to imagine that Snoop might be happy with us, when he seemed to want nothing more Read »
Thought you might want an update about Samuel (Corky). He is super great with Sit, Stay and Shake. He’s learning Down and 80% sort of knows to fetch his Leash and Mushroom (his favorite squeak toy) when I point and say their name. He still has some resource guarding issues but we’re working on that.
He loves running, chasing the squirrels at Oakland Cemetery, and Greenies are his absolute favorite treat.
Adopting him was probably my best decision last year. Thanks! ~ Becky T.
I adopted Fabian (on the left in the attached photo) on 9/21/13. He is doing great! His kennel cough has cleared up and he is loving his new home and new brother. Pepper (2010 Atlanta Pet Rescue alum, on the left in the attached photo) loves to dote on little Fabian – cleaning his ears and eyes at bedtime. Fabian likes to spend his time chewing on rawhides and toys and then burying them in the pillows on the couch, sleeping on his back up on the bed, playing with Pepper and sitting in my lap. He is such a sweet boy! ~ Maria H.
Hey Atlanta Pet Rescue! – I want to write to you as a thank you for absolutely everything you have done for my dogs! I adopted Suzie (formerly Susan – the smaller dog in the photo) about six years ago and Jack (formerly Abbot ) about four years ago. These two are quite the little rascals! The love they have given to us is the best we could have asked for! Jack likes to claim his spot on the floor in front of our couch or on the vents where the cool air hits his tummy (as he is afraid of heights) and Suzie likes to pretend she is a cat and lay on the back of the couch.
This is Kermit and our Princess. We adopted Kermit a year ago. He has been a great addition to our family and made himself at home. He has claimed his spot on the couch and has his own pillow on our bed. He spends a majority of his time watching Disney movies, chewing on his toys, and snuggling with our princess. He is always the first one to the car and loves his trips to the groomer and around town. Thank you for the joy you have brought into our lives by letting us give Kermit a loving home. May God bless you and your organization for the love and care you give to each animal that comes to your facility. ~ Sincerely, The Mathis Family
