More about Fostering

What is involved? Mainly your time and your love. You would bring one or more of our homeless pets into your home and nurture and enjoy the pet while we all look for a good, permanent, adoptive home.  As a prospective foster parent, you will be required to complete an application and be interviewed in person. If you have pets, you will be required to provide medical records for your current pets as proof that they are up to date on vaccines, spayed or neutered and on heartworm preventative.

Atlanta Pet Rescue and Adoption will provide an animal which has been vaccinated, neutered, and treated for fleas. We will provide all the food necessary for the animal's good health and do the monthly heartworm flea and heartworm preventative. Your contribution would be to love the animal while it was in your keeping and to bring it for adoption every Saturday by 11:30 until it is adopted.

We have a wide range of animals from which to choose. Some are ready for adoption immediately and will make fine pets for their adoptive parents. Others have been abused and need to relearn to trust people. They are frequently shy and fearful, but with "tender loving care"  they respond remarkably well.

If you are interested, please download the application and email it to us.
