Adrian was a pitiful 1 year old, 38 pound Olde English Bulldog when she first arrived at APR. Adrian was purchased from a breeder as a young puppy and later she developed demodex mange. After months of trying to get Adrian well, her family decided that they were no longer able to afford the necessary medication and regular visits to the vet.
Lucky for Adrian, we had space and agreed to help her get the medical care she needed. Thanks to the generous support of the sponsors below, Adrian has had top-notch medical care and her skin has healed, along with her spirits, and she is now ready for adoption.
Adrian is a whole new dog! Her fur has grown back and you would never know she had a previous skin condition. She may be homely, but Adrian has a stellar personality.
Adrian is in a foster home and
available for adoption on Saturday.
Foster Report: Adrian is all about having a good time. SHE LOVES TO PLAY! She likes to play with other dogs, with people and with the cat. This dog has a lot of energy. She needs to go to an active household. She is house trained but is crated when I am at work. Adrian needs someone who can devote time to her for training so that she can be the best dog. If you are up for a lot of fun, maybe Adrian is the girl for you.

Jax is a 3 year old Terrier mix who weighs 25 pounds. This sweet fellow came to us from an outlying animal control facility where he was taken after being abandoned in a foreclosed house. Neighbors heard him barking and alerted the authorities, who got Jax out of the house. Some nice women took Jax to the veterinarian because he was so skinny and had lots of sores on his body from flea bites. He was treated for his bad skin and the fleas got the boot, too. Eventually, though, the nice women took Jax to animal control. He has suffered some hair loss on his rear due to fleas, but that should go away with time and TLC. Jax is a friendly guy who needs a loving home that will never let him end up in this situation again. He gets along well with other dogs, but may not do so well with cats, according to the women who took him to animal control. Aside from that, Jax will make a wonderful canine companion for most any home.
Foster Report: Jax has been an absolute pleasure to foster! He gets along great with our dogs and can't wait to go on walks, the longer the better. Jax is great with children and he has a very sweet and loving disposition and is dashingly handsome- he loves to watch tv with the kids and always finds a lap to cuddle. He loved all the attention he got and could not be petted enough, he sucked up all the affection and loving every minute. He is absolutely housebroken and did not have a single accident during the two week we had him. Jax does not need to be crated, he never chewed up anything or left any marks in the house. Jax helps out to keep our yard squirrel free and most likely will not be good with cats. Jax can sit on command and comes when called; he is probably one of the sweetest dogs I ever fostered and it's beyond us why he was left behind. Jax would be happiest in an active forever home and he would not mind being an only dog. He is one awesome pup!
Jax is available for adoption
Tuesday through Saturday.

Lightning Angus is a 5 and a half year old Smooth Collie mix who was surrendered to Atlanta Pet Rescue along with his brother Wilson. These boys were adopted as puppies and have spent their whole life with a loving family. Unfortunately, the family has been experiencing health issue of their own. As a result, the difficult decision was made to re-home these boys.
Lightning Angus has a great lightning shaped streak down his head. It is almost the only way to tell these brothers apart. Lightning is housetrained and enjoys chasing tennis balls. He has lived with teenagers, however, he has never met a cat. Lightning is unsure about his recent relocation and is eagerly looking for a new family to call his own.
Lightning Angus is in a foster home and available for adoption on Saturday.
Foster update: Guys, these dogs are chick magnets! Ladies, take home Mr. Perfect with one application of Angus & Wilson charm. 100% unwritten guarantee that within three weeks of owning these dogs you’ll be married or shacked up with the love of your life. Already together? These boys will make you millionaires! Is this baloney? You bet, but the next part is absolutely true. Angus and Wilson, the boys are littermates and they are gorgeous! Angus is the calmer one, the grown up, Mr. Sensible but Mr. Sensitive. After a heart-wrenching first week he’s handling this life change pretty well. Angus will need someone at home most of the time or a friendly canine companion, he’ll get depressed if alone. He’s super smart, excellent house manners, leash trained, no one will come to your house unannounced! He’s not crate-trained but it’s totally unnecessary. He needs some training to stay calm in the car but is otherwise good. Might tolerate a tough cat. Angus is desperately seeking someone new to adore, his need for love is very deep. But Angus is fun, he plays with light and reflections, it’s extraordinary. He likes playing ball, does well at the dog park, should be fine with older kids. A really lovely dog but needs time and love daily, you’ll not regret it. And don’t call him Lightning, his name is Angus and that’s what he knows. Ahh, bless him.

Hank is a one year old, 28 pound Terrier mix who came to Atlanta Pet Rescue from an outlying animal control facility. Hank is a typical Terrier, always looking for a good time.
As you can see in these photos, he likes to cock his head to the side as if to say "what is that silly person doing, anyway?" Hank would love to have a new home where he can chase balls in the safety of a secure fence. He loves playing with other dogs and would be happiest in a home with another canine companion.
Hank is available for adoption
Tuesday through Saturday.

Drea is a beautiful one year old, 37 pound Terrier mix who came to Atlanta Pet Rescue from an outlying animal control facility where she had been living for the past two months. We thought that was more than long enough.
Drea is initially a bit shy, but this scruffy black and white doll will quickly get to wagging her tail in demand of your attention. She gets along well with her new friends here at APR, but appears to be much more of a people person. Please send in your application and see if you could be the right forever home for Drea.
Drea is available for adoption
Tuesday through Saturday.
