Ripley

Updated: 6/9/12
I've been adopted!
Age: 5 years   Weight: 44 lbs.    Gender: Male   Breed: Terrier mix

Ripley  is available for adoption Tuesday through Sunday.

Don't let Ripley's photos fool you!  He is incredibly camera shy, but in person he is the complete opposite.  He is a social butterfly that is always eager to make new friends, especially human.  There is a progression of steps that Ripley takes when meeting someone for the first time.  First, he will run over with a huge smile on his face, his nub of tail twitching from side to side, and will paw you.  He will take it a step further when you sit down and will put both paws in your lap.  Then, he will try to climb in your lap.  If he has made it into your lap then the kisses come flooding in.  Surely, he has melted your heart at this point.  All Ripley wants is someone that is going to adore him as much as he adores you.

If you can believe it, this perfect boy was at a humane society out in rural Alabama since October.   He tested positive for heartworms and completed his treatment December of 2011.  He recovered with flying colors and has been waiting patiently to find a forever home that will appreciate how amazing he is.  Ripley walks beautifully on leash.  He is smart and eager to please his people.  There is no doubt that he will make someone an extremely lucky companion.

What my foster parents say about me:

5/26/12:  Ripley is a fantastic dog! He walks beautifully on the leash and loves to meet new friends on walks. He loves rides in the car. He gets along great with cats and was perfect with my little dogs. He settles right down in his crate at night. He is very happy to help you bathe him.

Ripley is just a really cool dog who I think would LOVE his own teenage boy to pal around with. He likes to go for a long walk, play a little tug, and lay down for a nap. He enjoys wrestling and playing tug but can occupy himself with nearly any toy. He is really camera shy so it is tough to get a nice photo of his face but we tried to sneak a few pictures while he was with us.
