Ruby Tuesday

Updated: 10/27/12
I've been adopted!
Age: 7 years   Weight: 41 lbs.    Gender: Female   Breed: Bearded Collie mix

Ruby Tuesday is available for adoption Tuesday through Sunday.

If you are interested in adopting her please see our “How to Adopt” section and come in to meet her.

Ruby Tuesday is a staff and volunteer favorite.

Glance into Ruby's eyes and you will have a connection. Her eyes are soulful and beautiful. Ruby is an amazing dog who is housebroken, trained to sit, stay, watch, and an expert at nose work. She also LOVES to play fetch, it is one of her favorite pastimes. She sleeps through the night beside your bed and you can leave Ruby home alone while you are gone, and she will not “redecorate” for you.

For those who know her, it seems like she can understand English by the way she responds to you. Our staff trainer, Phil, has stated she is one of the smartest dogs in the shelter.

With her gorgeous good looks and outstanding traits, you may wonder why she is still in our adoption center rather than in a home of her own. Ruby is extremely loyal and with her loyalty come some needs that need to be met. We are looking for that special person who will understand her needs and continue to work with her.

When Ruby is comfortable with you, she can be a perfect dog. We wonder if there was a time in her life that she had a poor experience with a stranger. Upon meeting new people, Ruby will be afraid and show her fear with her bark. And Ruby does have a BIG bark. After she is comfortable with you she quickly becomes your best friend. When in the company of whom she trusts, meeting new people is a lot easier for her and she adjusts fairly quickly. The adoption center can be stressful with lots of new people, especially on weekends so most people don't ask to meet her.

Ruby is looking for a home who is looking for a dog who loves to play, run around with her toys and for someone who is looking for a loyal companion. She does best with routine and a regular schedule. If you are looking for a special companion who may not be able to join you at the dog park but wants to lay her head on you while at your desk, Ruby may be your girl. If you want a dog who is a social butterfly she may not be it. But if you are looking for a loyal friend who wants to cuddle up with you, give Ruby a look. If you are looking for a lifelong friend and you are that special person who can accommodate her needs, Ruby Tuesday is spectacular.

Ruby Tuesday has come a long way working with our training team and has spent time in foster care. Click this link to read all about her while in a foster home. We learn so much about our dogs when they are in a home environment. Ruby is a true gem!
